«As I always say, I´m focused on the first round, on my first match. I don´t think too much beyond that.»
I think it would be disrespectful to think: ´There is no Sinner, it´s a great opportunity´. When there are players who have won Grand Slams and big titles and are in great shape. Zverev has won a Grand Slam this year; there is Novak in the main draw. All Americans are dangerous on this surface. I always respect everyone.»
«I felt great in Montreal (he defended the title in Canada, ed.). I´m proud of the consistency I showed there, the attitude from a mental point of view and, above all, the level of tennis expressed. I reflected on the things I did well that week, working even more in detail on some aspects. The US Open is my favorite tournament and I feel a lot of emotions when I´m here. You have to find a balance. I have the chance to enjoy the moment after the injury I suffered last year in the third round. We´ll see what I can do.»
